Sarah Langer - Athlete Ambassador
Have you always been into sport?
Yes I was an 800/1500 runner from age 8. My parents signed me and my sister up to the local running and swimming clubs in an effort to tire us out. Lots of happy memories made!
How did you first get into triathlon?
I did triathlon briefly in my mid twenties. Post-children I have got into it as a result of getting into bike riding in lockdown. I have got the bug for sure!
If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
The Box End Sprint champs at the start of Sept this year, because I really enjoyed the bike course, didn’t have a shocker in transition and improved by around 5 minutes on my previous effort there.
What is your proudest achievement?
My family.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
Many a disaster in running over the years! Shoes too tight, shoes too loose, nearly missing the start, getting boxed, spiked, leaving too much for the finish, leaving too little for the finish...
How do you overcome setbacks?
Find a way around them. Be patient.
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
Just because it doesn’t make you sweat doesn’t mean it’s not important! I wish I had known to pay more attention to aspects of training such as stretching, yoga and pilates.
What are your goals?
Age group team.
Who inspires you?
Andrea Whitcombe
