Fast Track Fitness - PT and Athlete Ambassadors
Have you always been into sport?
Yes, I love all sports and play them as much as time allows. I definitely had a mis-spent youth playing sport as much as possible rather than studying!
How did you first get into triathlon?
I was lucky enough to live in Cape Town for a while and swimming, running and cycling there was such a treat that I wanted to stay out as long as I could!
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
One called Jailbreak in Cape Town, which is hosted at an old prison in the mountains above the city. It was an incredible route.
What is your proudest achievement?
Running with my son and daughter in a local race back in Winchester. They are going to be much better runners than me!
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
Not really – I've been very lucky in the races I've competed in. That is definitely more luck than good prep!
How do you overcome setbacks?
I like to stay positive – I'm getting on now and am quite accepting that I'm not going to be able to do get my own way with sport!
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
Focus on enjoying your sport, don't obsess over times and performances.
What are your goals?
I'd like to still be running sub 19 minute park runs when I'm 50.
Who inspires you?
