Ewan Cook - Athlete Ambassador
Have you always been into sport?
Yes I've always been into sport especially cycling it was only till 2020 where I really started to take it seriously. Where I began time trialing and found I was really good at it.
How did you first get into cycling?
I first got into cycling when my dad bought me a mountain bike for Christmas and since then I have just fell in love with the sport and then I tried a local cyclo cross race and just loved it even more.
If you are interested in getting into cycling, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
My favourite race to date would be the 2022 gorrick halloween xc race because not only did I win it but the course was amazing and it was such a good atmosphere.
What is your proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement would be racing in the 2022 junior national 10 mile time trial which you have to do a qualifying race for and which I came 23 out of 50 which I am still amazed with.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
Yes I have had loads but the worst one was at Portsmouth Mountbatten track in a road race when I clipped a fellow competitor pedal which was enough to snap my spoke and bend my wheel causing me to not finish the race. My dad caught it on camera as well.
How do you overcome setbacks?
I overcome set backs by trying to look in the positives in them and try to come back from them even stronger if they weren’t there.
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
A piece of advice that I was given this year actually was “make training fun but affective” I wish I knew this when I first started training as it use to feel like such a chore and something I had to do rather than I wanted to do.
What are your goals?
My goal is to try and get in the top 10 in some sort of national next year and my ultimate goal is to try and get on a cycling team and become a professional cyclist.
Who inspires you?
The person that inspires me the most has to be josh Tarling he's only 18 and he living the dream racing for Ineos greniders and that’s what I want to be doing when at his age.
Why work with Sundried?
I chose Sundried because I like the design of the clothes and cycling kit. And then I saw Jess’s post on Instagram and I thought to myself why don’t I try and become an ambassador for this company.
