Have you always been into sport?

Yes. I have always enjoyed being active. I have an energetic personality and I'm not one for sitting around. I started swimming as soon as I could, competing from age 9 till 16. Once I left training, I started teaching and coaching for the next 6 years. I am now heavily invested in cycling, riding 200-300km per week. I have participated in a few cycling events and in-fact won my last mixed team race. Excited to enter some cycling audaxes or time trials in 2022. Perhaps there is potential to start training for an aquathlon or triathlon next summer.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

Rapha Prestige. 164km through the Yorkshire Dales in a team of four. 2700m elevation. Climbs included: Kidstones, Grinton Moor, Oxnop Scar and Fleet Moss. With little previous experience climbing, the day was a challenge - but I surprised myself. I now have a change in mindset and thoroughly enjoy a gradual climb. The Prestige's location changes every year; I'm looking forward to seeing what 2022 holds.

What is your proudest achievement?

Riding from Bristol to Manchester (220 miles) in 14 hours over two days, having only been riding a year.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

During a swimming race I did a backstroke to breaststroke turn on an IM and clobbered my feet on the starting block - ouch!

How do you overcome setbacks?

Put them into context. Don't let setbacks alter my perceptions of my achievements.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Just keep going. Just because you aren't winning medals doesn't mean you can't simply enjoy it. But if you aren't enjoying it, don't bother.

What are your goals?

Keep improving and getting stronger. I'm not in it to win and conquer. I want to feel confident in my body.

Who inspires you?

People who push themselves out of their comfort zone and always challenge themselves to be better. Building from nothing into something pretty great.

Why work with Sundried?

I am intrigued by their goals regarding sustainability. Additionally, I feel everyone should be able to afford breathable clothing for sport, even if it's just commuting by bicycle to work.
