Dominic Garnham Athlete Ambassador
Have you always been into sport?
I have always loved sport, I took a step back when my partner and I had children but I am back and loving it again.
What made you decide to enter the world of triathlon?
The challenge would be my main reason. Plus it contains my 3 favourite sports.
What’s been your favourite race to date and why?
Ilkley triathlon: it is in my home town and gives me a reason to go home every year and catch up with friends.
And your proudest achievement?
Taking an active interest and steps to make the world a cleaner place for my children.
Have you ever had any racing disasters/your toughest race yet?
Yes, at Nottingham triathlon this year I had a panic attack in the swim (which had never happened to me before) then the race from there was just hard to regain composure and chase the time lost.
How do you overcome setbacks?
Take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Try not to make snap decisions when I have not thought of the possible outcomes.
What advice do you wish you'd been given before you started competing?
Forget the power or speed, focus on consistency and technique and the power and speed come for free.
What are your goals for 2019 and 2020?
Be the best I can be and be fully committed in all I do.
Who do you take your inspiration from?
My mum.
What do you like about Sundried and what’s your favourite bit of our kit?
The fact it is focused on sustainability, the future of the planet and kit that meets the need of social fitness all the way up to elite in the same garment. Hard to just pick one bit of kit I love it all!
