Have you always been into sport?

Sport has always been a part of my life. I started off swimming to simply be competent in the water so on holidays I could play in the sea. However, then I started rugby and carried on with this until I was about 11 and then I started to take swimming more seriously and joined a club (Llanelli asc). I slowly moved in to triathlon and now I have been doing triathlons for 4-5 years.

How did you first get into triathlon?

My dad started to do them in 2015/2016 and I was watching on from the sidelines and thought they looked fun so I gave it a go.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

My favourite race to date is probably AJ Bell triathlon Leeds. It is part of the British youth and junior super series and the crowds there were amazing and the following day the Brownlees raced most of the same course.

What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement is probably qualifying for the British Youth and junior super series as it was a nerve wracking experience and I hadn’t been there or done it before so it was all new and I still managed to qualify.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

In Mallory park (BYJSS) I woke up late and rushed to the venue, my bike wasn’t going together properly when we pulled it out of the car and the gears need to be restricted for the race but they weren’t. Then I was so panicked once I got out of the swim, I jumped on the bike (probably my strongest leg) and started to make time on all the field and then crashed out and damaged my week old bike!

How do you overcome setbacks?

I don’t see anything as a set back I only see it as motivation to go home and train harder to show what your really made of in the next event.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Don’t let pre race nerves and failure get you down because the nerves are just excitement that for the race and failure doesn’t exist it’s motivation so keep training and you will achieve your goal.

What are your goals?

This year my aim is to qualify for the British Youth and junior super series and qualify for the ETU sprint championships.

Who inspires you?

Lionel Sanders as he had a rough start to his life but turned his bad addiction into a good one and now is one of the best long distance athletes in the world.
