Camille Marchand - Athlete Ambassador
Have you always been into sport?
I've always liked doing sport, I started tennis and football at a young age but I got hurt and couldn't do these sports anymore.
How did you first get into triathlon?
I started cycling when I got injured, at first it was to rehabilitate my knee but I kinda liked it, so I started doing it more seriously 18 months ago.
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
My favourite race so far was the grimpée de murianette, a small race near Grenoble, but it was my first, and I got third place. That's when I thought I could really be good at cycling.
What is your proudest achievement?
A virtual everesting on zwift last winter, a little over 13 hours but I was really proud of myself after.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
Not yet but I'm still a new cyclist, so fingers cross for the future!
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
Go at your own pace, you can't get to no cycling to cycling everyday.
What are your goals?
I really want to climb the Stelvio and the Ventoux, the Ventoux is scheduled for next year and we'll see when I can do the Stelvio.
Who inspires you?
My uncle, he's got a prosthetic knee and hip and he still gets on his bike to ride with me!
Why work with Sundried?
I'm vegan, so working with a brand that values the reduction of waste and reducing plastic pollution is really important for me.
