Have you always been into sport?

I was into sport as a child, mainly doing windsurfing and gymnastics. In my mid 20's I discovered cycling and it's taken off from there. I now trained most days and absolutely love it.

How did you first get into triathlon?

I did my first triathlon for charity, I wanted to raise money for the British Heart Foundation as my grandad had passed away the year before. I will always remember that first year, I did Castle Howard and London triathlon. London was Olympic distance and it was the first time I managed to swim 1500m freestyle.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available. 

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

My favourite race was actually a swim run in Norway it was amazing. In swim-run you run in your wetsuit and swim in your shoes, it's done as a team. We covered 35km of running and about 6km of swimming across the fjords. I would definitely recommend it if anyone wanted to try something a bit different.

What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement was swimming Windermere (I like to do slightly different events), it's 11 miles took me 6h37 and I could not stand up at the end but it was such an amazing thing to do. I'll be doing Ullswater swim in a few things which I'm really looking forward to.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

No big disasters (so far) I put my shoes on the wrong pedals at the Age group Europeans in Glasgow a few years ago but luckily realised before the start, race nerves!

How do you overcome setbacks?

I'm going to focus on one main set-back- time and life stress- a lot of us are juggling work, family life and training and sometimes that can be challenging. I have learnt to be kind to myself, I know where my focus is training wise and if I have to miss a session sometimes that's okay.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Start with a sprint, I went straight in at Olympic distance that was not easy!!

What are your goals?

My goals at the moment are on ultra running, I would like to be competitive so focusing on that- some big races this year which I'm really looking forward to.

Who inspires you?

So many people inspire me, there are a lot of pro athletes juggling their sporting career, family life/jobs I think that's amazing.
