Have you always been into sport?

Yes pretty much. I swam for a club at the age of 10 for 3 years. I raced in my schools running team during high school and I've been a skier since I was 5 years old. I've always been a fitness enthusiast but for the last 15 years cycling has become my passion.

How did you first get into triathlon?

Although I have done a couple of team triathlons, I'm not really into triathlon. I like running and swimming but my main branch is cycling.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

Prudential Ride 100 miles 2019 race. The route was amazing, the organisation was not bad and the weather was perfect. Also we received lots of support all along the way from the spectators. But the best moment for me was to see my daughter waiting for me at the finish with a bouquet of flowers in her hands to celebrate me and seeing the pride in her eyes.

What is your proudest achievement?

I love long distance overnight rides. They're fun and each one is a great adventure. I would say my proudest achievement was one of these; the London to Paris ride that I organised with 2 of my friends. We accumulated 350 kms of riding in 2 days. We also raised a fair amount of funds for a charity as well. It was my first long ride to a city in another country, so it was also a big excitement for me.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

No not at all luckily :)

How do you overcome setbacks?

Whenever I experience setbacks, I plan a one month of intensive training filled with outdoor and indoor cycling on top of a daily intense fitness and a supportive diet plan. This always helped me to get back in form, but the most important factor I believe is not giving up, whatever the reason behind the setback you experience is.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

I wish I was given the advice for pushing my limits more. I experienced during the years that all the gains are achieved by pushing your limits more and more every time.

What are your goals?

My goal is to keep my fitness level high until I'm older and to be able to continue to push my self harder. To complete one Granfondo Stelvio. This is one of the most brutal yet beautiful climbs in the world with 151 km ride and more than 4000 meters of total climb.

Who inspires you?

Bradley Wiggins. He is really a warrior. I've read his book on his attempt on the hour record that he broke in 2015. The commitment to a goal so passionately and being ready to push the limits as hard as you possibly can to achieve it always inspires me very much in this story.
