Deni Kirkova Bikini Girls

Sundried get to know our favorite vegan and bikini competitor Deni Kirkova, one half of the bikini girls diary.

Please tell us about sporting events you have taken part in or have coming up.

I won first place Beach Body at the Miss Galaxy Universe European Championships 2016.

I am competing in UK Ultimate Physiques at BodyPower in Birmingham on May 12th - both in Ultimate Bikini and Ultimate Model categories.

Tell us about your journey to fitness? Where did it all start?

I got seriously into a results-driven diet and fitness regime at the beginning of 2016 in preparation for MGU.

What are your training goals now?

To get into BETTER shape than last season (I'm currently on prep) and winning or placing at UKUP would be amazing.

Tell us one unusual fact we wouldn’t know about you:

I'm fluent in Bulgarian, written and spoken.

What would future you, tell yourself when you were starting out?

Love yourself at every stage and it will make progress easier.

When working towards a goal comes from a place of love rather than a feeling of inadequacy little pitfalls won't matter nearly half as much.

Do you follow a specific nutrition plan? If so, what/when do you eat?

Currently, my macros have been cut down to 50g fats, 150g carbs and 130g protein a day because my coach is pretty angry at my slow progress. However last week I was on 55g fat, 170g carb and 130g protein (around 1690 calories).

I have no allergies but I eat only vegan food because I am vegan (a belief system that opposes the idea that animals are human commodities in any way shape or form).

What do you do to keep your clients motivated? Do you have any top tips to keep motivated?

Track your progress and food intake on MyFitnessPal, make friends with other people on a fitness journey if you can, listen to the School Of Greatness podcast, Food For Fitness is a good one too.

Talk us through your training regime.

4x weight training days per week (2 lower, one push and one pull), and a mix of high and low intensity cardio depending on the previous week's progress.

How do you keep your fitness knowledge up to date?

I qualified as a level 3 PT during prep for MGU, I listen to podcasts, grill my coach, read articles and through friendships and relationships with people who are into fitness.

What are your top 3 trainer tips?

Have a plan for your workout before you walk into the gym, have a short, medium and long-term SMART goal in mind when it comes to ANYTHING you do, and eat smart. Train all you like you'll never get into the shape you want if your diet sucks.

If you could only do one workout for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Hiking

What are your training goals?

To maintain sexy booty gains while getting as lean as possible. By this I mean a good waist to hip ratio, a full, high, round bottom when my body fat is, say, 13 or 14%.

Why work with Sundried?

It's ethical and so am I. The colours are beautiful and earthy and I feel the brand fits seamlessly with me. It's a dream partnership.
