    Southend Half Marathon Route Review

The course features two laps and a flat course along the seafront.

The double lapping makes it great for spectators to cheer on their loved ones at multiple stages throughout the course, as well as start and finish.

The course is well marshalled with frequent water and sponge stations to keep runners hydrated.

The route allows slower entrants to see the leading runners lap passed as they go to complete the route.

With the wind on your side, this flat race is certain to help you achieve a personal best.

Upon completion of the race runners receive a medal they can treasure… or promptly lose to one of their children.

If you are looking at going for a personal best, head to the front of the race.

    Southend Half Marathon Charity

The Southend Half Marathon is a charity event which raises money for Havens Hospices. When a family has been told that there’s no cure for their loved one’s illness, Havens Hospices can help, controlling pain and medication, supporting families, offering short breaks and caring for adults, babies, children and teenagers at the end of their lives. Haven’s specialist care is free – for as long as it is needed – within the home and at our two hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens. This is only possible thanks to the generosity of the thousands of Havens Hospice supporters who donate time, money and goods to the charity, ‘Making every day count’ for those who need them.
