The Sport and Fitness Show comes to Brighton on 10th and 11th September, which is also the weekend of the Brighton and Hove triathlon, for a weekend full of fitness.
The free event is expected to bring over 25,00 active and health loving athletes and individuals to Brighton seafront and Hove Lawns.
The outdoor show will be packed with the widest range of sport and fitness exhibitors, offering demo’s, tasters and even a stage with live classes run throughout the day to join in with.
Exhibitors come from all areas of health and fitness, from healthy nutrition to gym equipment, the latest tech and activewear.
Free to try activities will include archery, cricket, volleyball, Zumba and British military fitness.
The main stage will host free exercise classes, demonstrations and educational talks from nutrition experts. Live cooking demonstrations will also give visitors the chance to taste and learn to cook healthy dishes at home.
John Lunt, serial triathlon organiser and Event Director of the Brighton and Hove triathlon said, “I’m very pleased that the triathlon will part of a two day major Sport and Fitness Show creating an unmissable weekend in Brighton and Hove. Charlie Hepburn, Managing Director and founder of Brighton based live events agency Vivid Event Group, has organised the event in partnership with John Lunt, prolific triathlon organiser and competition manager for the London 2012 Olympic triathlon to bring the new events to the city. The Economic Development and Culture Committee voted unanimously in approval for plans for the events to take place in September 2016.
The Brighton and Hove Triathlon will cater for up to 3,000 participants, and will offer a sea swim, followed by a closed roads looped cycle along the coast road and ending with a run along Hove Promenade, with views of some of Brighton & Hove’s most famous landmarks.
Cllr Alan Robins, Deputy Chair of Economic Development and Culture Committee, said: “Brighton & Hove has an excellent reputation for hosting high profile sporting events and a triathlon will be a welcome addition. The event will encourage enjoyment and participation in sport as well as attracting competitors and spectators to the city. The city is known for celebrating and welcoming new events of this kind.”
Hepburn states, “We have assembled an experienced team for the delivery of these high profile events and are confident we will bring a world class triathlon and sport and fitness show to the South East”.

This September the Brighton and Hove Triathlon will be taking place for the first time, in the heart of the buzzing city. Featuring an exhilarating sea swim, a closed road cycle route, and a fast and flat run along the promenade, the triathlon is set to be the biggest closed road triathlon in the South East.
In addition to the closed road triathlon being held on Brighton seafront on September 11th, organisers have launched Brighton’s first free to attend Sport and Fitness Show running alongside the race on Hove Lawns.
The weekend festival of sport provides entertainment for all the family with a main stage packed with fitness classes and several ‘Have a Go’ activities such as a ski and snowboard slope, Go Ape Segway adventure, Athletes Gym courtesy of Innocent Coconut Water, QuidditchUK coaching, Archery Tag, Bubble Football, a yoga tent, Calisthenics rig and much more!
Event Manager Josie Pether says, “We wanted to create a show where triathletes can bring their entire family for a fun day out. The show is packed with free activities for adults and children as well as a shopping village with quality exhibitors”.
Over 40 exhibitors are confirmed so far including Linwoods, Innocent, Mango Bikes, BMW, Bike Tart, High Roller, High5, Zone3, Travel Bag, Sundried Clothing, Beet It, Little Miracles, Massage Tech, Arbonne, Heck Sausages and many more.
Zumba Fitness are sending their UK Master Trainer to run fitness classes over the weekend and visitors will also find Les Mills classes, Ballet Fit, Karate, British Military Fitness, Strongman competition and more exciting classes.
Alongside the many nutrition based exhibitors, food is being served by Brighton’s much loved Street Diner, post-race the hungry participants can expect mouth-watering dishes from a selection of well vetted traders serving the world’s most popular dishes, as well as a few beers!
