We Are Tribe Bar

Sundried have teamed up with the guys at We Are Tribe to bring you the best ways to maximise your post-workout recovery. Optimising your recovery helps reduce the risk of injury, allows consistent training, and helps you train to your maximum potential. Here are 5 quick and easy ways to maximise your recovery

Nutrient Timing

Refuel with a 3:1 carbohydrate to protein snack within 45 minutes after exercise, this is your glycemic window - the period when your body is most receptive to taking on nutrients.

Read more about nutrient timing here.

Fuel Your Performance

Make sure you eat a balanced macro-nutrient recovery meal within 3-4 hours after training. Opt for natural, whole foods and include a range of protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals. Protein is made up of amino acids which are used to build and repair muscle tissues and carbohydrates are important to restore depleted glycogen stores.

Cool Down

Do not skip the cool down! Factor 10 minutes into the end of your workout for some stretching. Cooling down helps dissipate lactic acid and other metabolic by-products, reduces negative effects of build-up in muscles, and reduces the risk of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Read more about DOMS here.

Rest Days

The repetitive motion of running puts physical stress on your body, so include rest days into your weekly training to help your body recover and repair itself. Non-running activates such as yoga, swimming and Pilates allow muscles to recover from high-impact running, whilst also helping build aerobic fitness, strengthening muscles and flush stiffness with increased blood circulation.

Foam Roll

Using a foam roller after exercise is a great way to help break down lactic acid that can accumulate after long-hard session. Roller exercises help loosen tight tissues, reduce physical imbalances and increase mobility.

About Tribe

TRIBE is a natural sports nutrition brand and athletic community. Tom, Rob and Guy – three old friends and ultra-runners – founded the brand in 2015 following a 1000 mile run across Eastern Europe. Frustrated with the synthetic and sugar-filled sports nutrition products available on the market, they set out to develop performance nutrition from all-natural whole foods, blended in the right way to provide key nutrients pre and post workout.

You can try a TRIBE Pack – a mix of six TRIBE nutrition products tailored to your training – for just £1 using code SUNDRIED  www.wearetribe.co
