Have you always been into sport?
Yes, football (soccer), rugby, hockey, athletics, cycling, canoeing all as a junior. As a senior football, running and cycling.
How did you first get into triathlon?
I am a runner so not into triathlon but adore both running and cycling and I have competed in a number of duathlons road and off-road.
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
The Sodbury Slog - a 9 mile off-road running race. I am a road runner normally but entered this for something different, I ended up coming home in 3rd place.
What is your proudest achievement?
As an athlete: Getting a Silver medal in the British Masters Athletic Federation Road Mile in 2012.
As a coach: An athlete that I coached achieving silver medal in her age group in the England Athletics Cross Country Championships. She was later ranked 4th in Britain in her age group over Cross Country by Athletics Weekly.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
I was racing in a 10 mile off-road race, sitting in 3rd place. 2 miles to go I took a wrong turn ran a extra 3/4 mile and came home in 7th.
How do you overcome setbacks?
It depends on the set back! Mainly stay relaxed and look forward.
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
To take up running earlier than I did.
What are your goals?
To continue my development as a coach and try to find time for my own training.
Who inspires you?
All athletes, it is too easy to stay rooted to your seat.
