Christopher Keech - Athlete Ambassador
Christopher is a cyclist who is planning to start competing in triathlon. He talks to Sundried about training and racing.
Have you always been into sport?
When I was younger I wasn’t one for running, but I very much enjoyed playing rugby and was part of my school’s team and the local club. As I got older Rugby phased out and I fell in love with cycling instead. In recent years I have found a love for running too.
How did you first get into triathlon?
I haven’t yet, but I'm so game to do one in the future!

What has been your favourite race to date and why?
I would have to say it was ‘race on the chase’. It was a really fun half marathon trail event, which I even got a PB on!
What is your proudest achievement?
Walking the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William is certainly up there. It took me 4.5 days to complete the walk with full kit and camping along the way.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
None as yet…
How do you overcome setbacks?
Time, Patience and Positive attitude.
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
Don’t be afraid to try something new, just listen to your body and go with the flow.
What are your goals?
This coming year I have three Man Vs challenges organised by Rat Races and the Manchester Marathon…wish me luck.
Who inspires you?
My mother who continues to stay active, run Half Marathons despite being into her 60s ‘You can do fitness at any age, as long as you have a positive mindset’.
