Have you always been into sport?

Yes, I've always been into sport. In my youth I played and competed in athletics, badminton and tennis… but my main sport was rugby.

How did you first get into triathlon?

When I stopped playing rugby I started to run and go to the gym just to stay in shape and keep fit. Both my sisters have been triathletes / iron men / cyclists for many years…. so about five years ago I thought I'd give triathlon a go.

What is your proudest achievement?

In addition to triathlon I'm proud to have completed the 4x4x48 David Goggins running challenge in 2021.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

No racing disasters (yet!). Only minor injury or illness setbacks to training over the last few years. Just need to listen to your body and do what you can while allowing it to recover. Patience is key.

What are your goals?

Near term goals are sub 2h45 Olympic triathlon, sub 1h40 half marathon and to run my first marathon in 2022. Medium to longer term goal is just to be able to continue to exercise as much in the next few years as I have been able to do during the pandemic.

Who inspires you?

I'm inspired by professional athletes in general. The discipline, mental strength and personal sacrifice to train and compete at the intensity and frequency that they do is incredible.
