This requires a disciplined approach to timing and dosage that aligns with your specific physiological profile.

The short answer is a resounding yes. Research consistently demonstrates that caffeine can improve endurance performance by anywhere from 2% to 4%. For a marathon runner, that is the difference between a frustrating plateau and a new qualification time. - Long Slow Distance (LSD) Runs: These base-building runs are essential for developing mitochondrial density and capillary growth. By keeping the pace conversational, you teach your body to become incredibly efficient at burning fat as fuel, which is the secret to enduring the latter stages of a race without bonking or fatigue.
- Strength and Conditioning: Incorporating heavy compound lifts like squats and deadlifts strengthens the tendons and ligaments, providing a robust frame for your running mechanics. - Plyometric Training: Exercises like box jumps and bounding improve your explosive power and reactive strength.
