Bowood House & Gardens will be hosting their annual duathlon. The route takes in the beautiful scenery around Bowood Lake, the Cascade waterfall, and the Doric Temple. Bowood House is in Calne, Wiltshire near the history and beautiful city of Bath. 

Bowood has been the Lansdowne family home for over 250 years. Bowood House lies in the centre of a beautiful rolling landscape next to a large lake – all created by ‘Capability’ Brown back in the 1760’s.

More recently added to this two thousand acre oasis has been an amazing adventure playground, championship golf course and boutique hotel. Lord Lansdowne’s vision, over the past forty years, has been to harness Bowood’s natural assets whilst preserving its unique heritage by creating something that interests and excites all tastes and ages.

On the weekend of the 16th and 17th of September 2017, Brighton will be hosting their annual triathlon. The Brighton & Hove Triathlon sees 1,000 participants swim, cycle, and run along the famous British beach. 

Additional to the triathlon, Brighton host the Sport & Fitness show at the same time. The show has major exhibitors such as England Netball, Go Ape, and BMW. The 2016 show had 20,000 people getting active in their numerous fitness sessions being led by the UK’s top trainers.

Location: Bedford Autodrome, Thurleigh Airfield Business Park, Thurleigh, Bedfordshire,  MK44 2YP

Standard:  10km / 39km bike / 5km run

Amenities: Chip timing, draft legal, ITU qualifier, prizes

Entry Price:

Bedford Autodrome will be hosting its annual duathlon which is a draft-legal event. There are sprint or standard distances on offer and they act as GB age-group qualifiers. The course is based around the Thurleigh Airfield, which is now turned into a motor racing track.

Designed from scratch by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer, there is nowhere else in the world like Bedford Autodrome. The venue has been purpose-built for speed and space, containing four entirely distinct circuits and over 5 miles of track laid out across a 384-acre site, with vast run-off areas that provide optimum safety.

Location: Holland Haven Country Park, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO15 5UB

Event Type and Distance: Off-Road Standard, Sprint, and Super Sprint Triathlon

The Clacton Triathlon is in its 18th year and will see athletes compete in aid of the Brain & Spine Foundation; they have raised around £90,000 for the charity so far which is a fantastic effort.

On Saturday there is an off-road Sprint Triathlon and an off-road Super Sprint Triathlon. On Sunday, the event is a Standard (Olympic) Distance Triathlon meaning it consists of a 1500m swim, a 40km bike, and a 10km run.

The swim is an open sea swim starting in waist-deep water. The competitors will swim out and around fixed markers. Full safety cover is provided.

The Standard Distance bike section takes racers around rural and country roads. The Sprint and Super Sprint are 'off road' bike courses. All course directions will be fully displayed en route.

The run will take competitors along the promenade and seafront paths between Holland Haven and Clacton Pier with great views of the beautiful seaside town.

Fit Living UK is a national fitness lifestyle show which takes place in Bournemouth International Centre and on Bournemouth Beach. The event will have over 50 classes to participate in, the latest fitness trends, and the best fitness tech. There will also be a blogger stage where you can hear from fitness bloggers, nutritional chefs, sporting celebrities, and fitness professionals.
