Have you always been into sport?

Yes , I have always been active - tried different sports such as basketball/handball at high school and then I was someone who was really enjoying the gym until running took off only 4-5 years ago and now trying more cross training like cycling and swimming too and aiming for my first triathlon this year.

How did you first get into triathlon?

This was following a running injury as running has been my main sport . I decided to take on cycling and then found myself doing a duathlon which was a run-bike-run event. After that I decided to do more swimming and hoping to do my first triathlon this year.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

I have mainly done running races apart from the duathlon - I really enjoyed the Eastbourne duathlon and recently did an ultra known as the south downs way 50 which is a 50 mile race organised by centurion. That was the biggest personal challenge and despite being tough I really enjoyed it.

What is your proudest achievement?

Completing the south downs way 50 ultra - my first ultra marathon.

Before that - completing Athens marathon as felt as the original - authentic marathon - where it all started

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

Not that I recall to be honest ...

How do you overcome setbacks?

I try and stay optimistic and I usually reframe things - trying to figure out the learning points from a setback to help me grow. I also seek support from family and friends during a difficult season or time.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

It is all about perseverance but also avoid comparison to an extent - stay in your lane - it is your journey - focus on your goals- sometimes it is about competing against yourself and becoming better and better with time . However, dedication is key to achieve your goals.

What are your goals?

One day to possibly complete an ironman!

Who inspires you?

Currently Eliud Kphoge with his motto 'impossible is nothing' but also some ultra runners such as Rich Roll who completed 6 ironmans in 6 consecutive days! Also Scott Jurek , and some younger runners such as Nick Butter - currently trying to complete 200 marathons in 100 days , and Tom Evans - ultra runner - holds the course record for south downs way 50 ultra that I have just completed.
