Have you always been into sport?
I got into sport from a very young age. I was competing in acrobatic gymnastics from around the age of 7 and I retired aged 24!
How did you first get into ultra running?
I first got into endurance events when my friend challenged me to do a tough mudder, since then I was hooked to anything that was endurance based.
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
My favourite race day has to be my recent ultra marathon as I had raised £2,003.75 for a charity local to me that had cared for a child that I coached before she sadly passed away aged just 17.
What is your proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement to date is being selected to represent Great Britain in the Acrobatic World Cup series.
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
Race disasters again has to come from where I decided it would be a wise idea to try and cover 20 miles without using gels or hydrating properly, luckily I made it to a pit stop and my team worked on me to get me functioning again. Some very valid lessons learnt there!
How do you overcome setbacks?
To overcome a set back I tend to let whatever has failed pan out, re group and then attack from a different angel or training method.
What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?
Advice for when I first started has to be to not be disappointed with a time from a run, swim or cycle. It will get quicker with the correct training and working at your max every workout just isn’t good for you.
What are your goals?
My goals are to be competitive in triathlons and ultra running. I want to compete and take part in endurance events that most people look at and think “why”.
Who inspires you?
I have a few people that inspire me. Luke Tyburski is right up there. The guy is brilliant!
