Have you always been into sport?
Always since the age of 6 playing football and various sports.
How did you first get into running?
After I stopped playing football I started getting out the door on a Sunday morning running as that had been my life for so long. Now it feels strange if I haven’t run in a couple of days!
What has been your favourite race to date and why?
My favourite race isn’t a big one, there's a local 10k which I run every year. You run through the high street with people either side of you, it’s such a buzz.
What is your proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement is actually winning the junior field gun competition in Portsmouth for Network Rail. I did my apprenticeship with them and we were invited to take part and being the only civilian team amongst all the forces were were expected to be the laughing stock, so it felt even better when we won. I’ve never felt elation like it!
Have you ever had any racing disasters?
I’m glad to say I haven’t as of yet!
How do you overcome setbacks?
Injuries are a common one. I like to think after each injury I come back stronger physically and mentally. Each injury is a learning process.
What are your goals?
This year it is to get my HM, 10k and 5k times down.
Who inspires you?
My kids and my competitors!
