Have you always been into sport?

I have always loved sport from a young age, it started with running and then progressed to triathlon but I love any sport.

How did you first get into triathlon?

I got into triathlon as my older brother joined the local tri club (Alnwick tri club) which I later joined when I was old enough and then my love for triathlon grew from there. I have now progressed to the England next generation squad.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

My favourite race has to be super league Jersey triathlon where I came 3rd. It was really good as we raced on the same course on the same day as all the professional triathletes. It was also a different format which meant we did two super short triathlons, one after the other.

    What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement is winning one of the national triathlon super series event and coming 2nd at the British championships, which were both at Mallory park racing circuit.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

The only racing disasters I have had are not being able to find my bike in transition and having to spend loads of time looking for it.

    How do you overcome setbacks?

If I have a setback I just try and refocus and think about what I did wrong that I can improve and practice for next time so I don't make the same mistake, I use the setback to help me improve.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

The only advice you need is just to have fun and enjoy it.

    What are your goals?

My goals for next few years are to qualify for Europeans either youth or junior, but in the future I would love to reach the Olympics.

    Who inspires you?

All the professional triathletes inspire me but I think Georgia Taylor-Brown and Jess Learmonth inspire me the most.

    Why work with Sundried?

I want to work with Sundried so I can be part of a group of people who all love sport and want to help grow their sport and help promote a really good brand who have good quality sustainable sport clothing.

Have you always been into sport?

I started running at a very young age and was in all of the sports teams at school (Cross Country, Athletics, Hockey and Rugby). I was lucky to represent Bristol in the Mini London Marathon twice at about 12 years old and I played in the National Women’s Rugby Sevens. Fortunately when I joined the RAF, sport was a huge part of my life.

How did you first get into triathlon?

I started Triathlon when I was in the RAF because they used to run 'Try a Tri' which was great fun because it was during work time and you were able to get out and just try it in a fun environment against the other stations.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

I run a lot and London Marathon 2017 will always be my favourite because I was selected to represent the RAF, I achieved a marathon PB and I also achieved my RAF colours for representative sport. My mum who is my biggest supporter came to watch and I remember high-fiving Darren Campbell on Embankment when he was commentating.

    What is your proudest achievement?

Being selected to represent the RAF in distance running at London Marathon as one of 5 females.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

My derailleur snapped in an RAF triathlon and I came off which wasn't ideal because I was in the middle of nowhere on the bike course and had to carry my bike back to the start.

    How do you overcome setbacks?

I used to really dwell on bad races and feel quite down, but now I remind myself of all of my achievements (5 Ultra Marathons and 8 Marathons) and set goals to focus on.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Enjoy it and don't put so much pressure on yourself. When you relax you actually perform better!

    What are your goals?

I would love to keep improving my running times and one day I would love to qualify for GB age group in Triathlon. IronMan is also on the cards one day!

    Who inspires you?

Flora Duffy inspires me. I met her when she was 18 and I was working in Kelly College where she went to school. I have followed her journey and watching her win Gold at the Olympics was so incredible.

    Why work with Sundried?

I love the brand, it is stylish and affordable. It also features the most advanced technology on the planet, which has been created ethically and sustainably.

Have you always been into sport?

NO!!!  In school, I absolutely hated running in any shape or form and was useless at it all! I didn't understand why people would do it to themselves as it just seemed to be so painful and horrible!

I did have a fondness for cycling but purely as a slow pootler and I always loved the water but mainly for being on it rather than swimming.

How did you first get into triathlon?

One night I got drunk with a friend and she persuaded me to enter a triathlon she was doing at Eton Dorney.  I couldn't swim front crawl at all and it was an open water swim...I only went for the super sprint as I was petrified! Alcohol gives you courage... until the next day!

I managed to complete it and actually fell in love with it and from that point on, I never stopped.

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

This is a tough one as I have so many races I've loved for different reasons. I think one of the grandest things I took part in was the Mont Blanc 23KM run in Chamonix...just wow... that's all I can say…the scenery and grandeur was just phenomenal!  And the race was hard!!!

    What is your proudest achievement?

Without a doubt The Lakesman which was my very first Full Iron Distance Triathlon... the most amazing thing I've ever achieved! Crossing that finish line will stay with me forever and I can relive the feeling every time I think about it.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

Oh yes!  Immortal Stourhead 70.3... a disaster from start to finish. Freezing cold swim, nutritional errors on the bike and bonking and then literally dragging myself around the run... just awful! I did finish but I have no idea how!

    How do you overcome setbacks?

Learn from your mistakes, put it down to experience. Move on and keep on doing what you do.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Control the controllable and only try to better yourself without comparing to others.

    What are your goals?

I want to be faster and try and qualify to GB Age group in Triathlon. I may need to be in the aged 70 category before I get a chance at that!

    Who inspires you?

The everyday person who actually realises they can achieve anything they put their mind to. Some people are just amazing and yet they have no idea!

    Why work with Sundried?

Well the kit is absolutely awesome for a start. However, the ethos of the company is an ethos I really like. I wish more companies had the same outlook that Sundried do. I want to promote that.

Have you always been into sport?

When I was younger I tried every sport I could, from trampolining to football. I swam at a National level for 8 years throughout my teens, the highlights being racing at the 2016 Olympic trials and representing England south west internationally.

How did you first get into triathlon?

I first got into triathlon in 2019, my goal was to finish an Ironman. I told my parents when I was 10 years old that I wanted to do an Ironman - they didn't believe me. 10 years later I wanted to prove them wrong and really challenge myself. I finished Ironman UK 1st in my age group and qualified for the Ironman world champs, safe to say I'm hooked in triathlon now!

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

My favourite race definitely has to be Kona/Ironman world championships in 2019. Pretty hard to beat the views (+swimming with dolphins!) and the scale of the race, plus seeing heroes of the sport racing while also racing the same course is pretty awesome.

    What is your proudest achievement?

My proudest achievement would have to be finishing the race at Ironman 70.3 Bolton in September 2021 by overcoming some big setbacks. I'd come out my bike the week before and suffering with a concussion, on antibiotics from a cut I sustained and REALLY low confidence while cycling. I spent the whole day before trying to fix my bike (got it fixed just before transition closed). If anyone knows the bike course, it's very technical, I managed to fight some fears on the descents, dodge a car that nearly took me out and finish 1st in my age group (by 1 hour) and 4th woman overall!

(Just to put it out there that proudest achievements don't have to be your highest ranking races, your circumstances and personal goals can sometimes make you more proud of yourself!)

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

Nothing crazy that stopped me finishing the race, but I found out I am gluten intolerant in the last few miles of the run at Ironman UK, let's just say my tummy wasn't happy with me. It highlighted to me how awesome the volunteers and supporters at races are!

    How do you overcome setbacks?

It depends on the setback, but I normally pull myself to one side and have words with myself (tell myself I can do anything I set my mind to and that I'm not a quitter). I also lean on friends and family to ask for help when needed.

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Don't wear pants under bib shorts and find friends in your sport.

    What are your goals?

My goal is to become AG world champion in either Ironman distance or 70.3 distance (I'm not picky). But also to keep enjoying what I do, if I don't enjoy it then what's the point in it all.

    Who inspires you?

I'm inspired by my friends and family that believe in me and help me to achieve my goals. I'm also inspired by the achievements of my teammates from Team Orion.

    Why work with Sundried?

It's great to work with a UK brand, but also one that supports sustainability practices in its business. Of course the kit being really comfortable, high quality and affordable helps too!

Have you always been into sport?

Absolutely, my journey started as a 6 year old being taken by my Dad to my local rugby club where I fell in love with the game & the camaraderie and I have continued to chase eggs ever since. In addition to rugby, swimming, mountain biking, and skiing were all part of my sporting life. More recently as my body couldn’t quite keep up with the knocks of regular rugby I have discovered CrossFit, Triathlons and a new found passion for road cycling (it may be the coffee & pastries!)

How did you first get into triathlon?

I did a few training sessions to support my best mate when he was preparing for his first triathlon, after which we decided to start training regularly for the same event the following year. We have done 3 Olympic distance triathlons since then, along with a half marathon, a sportive in Belgium on the famous cobbled climbs of the Tour de Flanders and the infamous 4x4x48 endurance challenge!!

If you are interested in getting into Triathlon, Sundried's kit is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned athletes. We have both men's and women's options available.

What has been your favourite race to date and why?

My favourite race so far has to be the first Olympic distance triathlon as finishing it felt like such a significant achievement, it gave me the bug and kicked off ‘Project Sub 3 hour’ which hopefully will be achieved in 2022!

    What is your proudest achievement?

It has to be completing the 4x4x48 challenge in March 2021, it is brutal endurance challenge where you run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours starting at 4am on a Saturday morning. The event is the brain child of former US Navy Seal David Goggins & is a real test of your mental resilience as well as physical endurance. I was proud not only to complete the event but also raise nearly £3,000 for the leading mental health charities in the UK & Northern Ireland.

Have you ever had any racing disasters?

Thankfully no real racing disasters, other than the usual issues caused by not getting my nutrition & hydration plan right!

    How do you overcome setbacks?

Physical setbacks by ensuring that I rest and rehab properly, listen the experts and build back little by little and try not to rush my recovery. Mentally I like to review my performance data & look for the areas where small gains can be made, that ultimately push you through the barrier of what you thought was possible

What advice do you wish you'd been given when you first started out?

Consistency, consistency, consistency! I have made significant improvements in performance over the last couple of years and they have all come from being consistent with nutrition and training week after week!

    What are your goals?

The little weekly goals are about improving my running pace per mile and average speed on the bike, my main goal remains completing an Olympic distance triathlon in under 3 hours.

    Who inspires you?

Geriant Thomas whose mental & physical resilience is unbelievable, Filippo Ganna who has an amazing ability to suffer and manage his effort during individual time trials and will then bury himself on the front of the peloton in support of his teammates. The Brownlee brothers & Lauren Steadman who are such brilliant triathletes and of course Maro Itoje & Owen Farrell who are such unbelievable competitors.

    Why work with Sundried?

First and foremost because Sundried active wear looks good, is well made & built to last. Sundried’s ethos matches my own as I want to buy kit that will last and I can wear session after session, mile after mile because consistency is key!
