This end of season duathlon is brought to you by Born2Tri in Braintree, Essex on 2nd October 2016.
It is based at Great Notley Country Park in Braintree, with the attraction of a beautiful parkland venue but very accessible with good road links from the A120 and A131, and plenty of parking.
Born to Tri have arranged access to changing and café facilities within the Discovery Centre and competitors toilets adjacent to transition.
4km run - 20km ride- 4km run.
The race will start at 9am with a 4km single lap, multi terrain run on paths and grassland surrounding the Discovery Centre in the country park.
A two lap road course totalling 20km. This is a flat and fast course along local roads.The transition area will be situated in the park adjacent to the Discovery Centre, changing facilities will be available at the centre itself with competitors toilets adjacent to transition.
A final 4km single lap, multi terrain run on paths and grassland within the park finishing close to the Discovery Centre.
The race starts and finishes with a 4km run in Great Notley country park. The route is a mixture of grass and surfaced paths, with a challenging hill included in the run. The transition to the cycle section is on a grass area adjacent to the access road. The cycle course is all on road, consisting of two 10km laps offering a fast but enjoyable ride through Rayne, Willows Green and Great Leighs before returning to the centre for the final run.
The manageable distances and traffic free run course makes it an ideal race for novices and young competitors, minimum age 15yrs on race day. All the course will be well signed and marshalled and it will benefit from chip timing.
Trophies will be awarded for 1st place male / female in the categories Youth/Junior (U20), Open (U40) & Vet (over 40).
