The free event is expected to bring over 25,00 active and health loving athletes and individuals to Brighton seafront and Hove Lawns.

The outdoor show will be packed with the widest range of sport and fitness exhibitors, offering demo’s, tasters and even a stage with live classes run throughout the day to join in with.

Exhibitors come from all areas of health and fitness, from healthy nutrition to gym equipment, the latest tech and activewear.

Free to try activities will include archery, cricket, volleyball, Zumba and British military fitness.

The main stage will host free exercise classes, demonstrations and educational talks from nutrition experts. Live cooking demonstrations will also give visitors the chance to taste and learn to cook healthy dishes at home.

John Lunt, serial triathlon organiser and Event Director of the Brighton and Hove triathlon said, “I’m very pleased that the triathlon will part of a two day major Sport and Fitness Show creating an unmissable weekend in Brighton and Hove. There will be a number of exciting new innovations happening next year, so keep your eyes peeled!”

Charlie Hepburn, Managing Director and founder of Brighton based live events agency Vivid Event Group, has organised the event in partnership with John Lunt, prolific triathlon organiser and competition manager for the London 2012 Olympic triathlon to bring the new events to the city. The Economic Development and Culture Committee voted unanimously in approval for plans for the events to take place in September 2016.

The Brighton and Hove Triathlon will cater for up to 3,000 participants, and will offer a sea swim, followed by a closed roads looped cycle along the coast road and ending with a run along Hove Promenade, with views of some of Brighton & Hove’s most famous landmarks.

Cllr Alan Robins, Deputy Chair of Economic Development and Culture Committee, said: “Brighton & Hove has an excellent reputation for hosting high profile sporting events and a triathlon will be a welcome addition. The event will encourage enjoyment and participation in sport as well as attracting competitors and spectators to the city. The city is known for celebrating and welcoming new events of this kind.”

Hepburn states, “We have assembled an experienced team for the delivery of these high profile events and are confident we will bring a world class triathlon and sport and fitness show to the South East”.
